Privacy Policy
TogetherDo · Last updated: 19 July 2026
TogetherDo ("we", "us", "the app") is a chat-based collaborative task management application. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have.
By creating an account and using TogetherDo, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you give us
| Data | Why we collect it |
|---|---|
| Name | To identify you to people you chat with and to attribute tasks |
| Phone number | Account creation, one-time-password sign-in, letting contacts find you |
| Email address | Alternative sign-in, account recovery, service notices |
| Profile photo (optional) | Displayed to people in your conversations |
| Messages you send | To deliver them to the people in your conversation |
| Tasks, subtasks, comments, due dates, attachments | Core functionality of the app |
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device push token — a Firebase identifier used solely to deliver notifications to your device.
- Session and authentication data — tokens that keep you signed in securely.
- Basic technical data — such as connection information needed to operate and secure the service, and error logs used to diagnose problems.
1.3 Information from third parties
If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We do not receive your Google password or any other Google account data.
1.4 Safety and moderation data
If you report a message or user, we store the report, the reason you selected, any details you add, and a copy of the reported content so that our team can review it. If you block someone, we store that preference so we can apply it.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the core service: messaging, tasks, assignment and progress tracking
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure
- To send push notifications you have enabled (new messages, task assignments, reminders)
- To let people you know find you, according to your privacy settings
- To review reports, enforce our rules, and keep users safe
- To diagnose faults, fix bugs, and improve reliability
- To comply with legal obligations
3. Who we share information with
We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, and only as needed to run the app:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Railway | Application hosting and database storage |
| Google Firebase | Push notification delivery |
| Google Sign-In | Optional sign-in method |
| Alpha Net (sms.net.bd) | Delivering one-time passwords by SMS |
We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public.
Your messages and tasks are visible to the other members of the conversations you take part in. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing with those people.
4. How long we keep it
- Account information — for as long as your account is active.
- Messages and tasks — until deleted by you or another participant, or until the conversation is deleted.
- One-time passwords — a short period only, then discarded.
- Reports — retained after review so we can identify repeat behaviour.
- Deleted accounts — removed from active systems promptly, and from routine backups within 30 days.
5. Your rights and choices
Delete your account
You can permanently delete your account and its associated data at any time from within the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account. You may also email us using the address below and we will action the request.
Access and correction
You can view and edit your profile information in the app at any time. To request a copy of your data, contact us.
Control who can find you
Under Profile → Privacy you can control whether people may find you by phone number or email address.
Blocking and reporting
You can block any user from the conversation screen, and manage blocked users under Profile → Privacy → Blocked users. Blocked users' messages will no longer be shown to you. You may report any message or user for review.
Notifications
You can turn push notifications off in the app's notification settings, or in your device's system settings.
6. Security
All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are stored using industry-standard one-way hashing, and access to production systems is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work to protect your information we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
TogetherDo is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. International transfers
Our service providers may store and process data in countries other than your own. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information remains protected in line with this policy.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of TogetherDo after a change means you accept the revised policy.
